At St Paul’s Catholic College, Booragul, we aspire to teach students to develop a deep appreciation for acquiring knowledge and skills, embrace collaboration, actively engage in critical and creative thinking and to be resilient and reflective learners. As St Paul was courageous, our students will also be distinguished by their courage – courage to dream more, to do more, to learn more and to be more.
Our vision for teaching and learning at St Paul’s reflects the goals of the 2019 Alice Springs (Mparntwe) Declaration (2019):
St Paul’s teachers strive to create learning environments and practices which enable students to develop critical and creative thinking skills, engage in collaborative learning opportunities, foster respectful and quality relationships and to endeavour to continually develop 21st century learning skills.
St Paul’s Catholic College, through its culture of high expectations, positive teacher-student relations and contemporary approach to the delivery of the curriculum, aims to meet the spiritual, intellectual, psychological and social needs of each student, developing more fully the ability of each individual to think objectively and responsibly, to value the search for truth, and to appreciate the dignity and value of the human person.
Working closely with the College Principal and Assistant Principal – Community & Well-being, the Assistant Principal – Teaching and Learning will support teachers and students, in collaboration with the families and wider school community, in realising these goals for our students.
